hb Norris, A. G. S. Transcendental Astrology 1st Rider & Co., Paternoster House, Paternoster Row, London, E.C.4 n.d. £125 Library records give 1937, which appears correct for this impression. The first edition of this book is always undated in print ASSOCIATION COPY. Original full blue cloth in vgc+ condition, with light-to-moderate rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of boards, and very minor bumping to top edges of boards. The spine colour on this copy remains a fairly deep shade of blue; gilt titling to spine nearly all strong and bright, with minimal partial fading to letters of publisher name. Paper hinges still strong, with minimal traces of internal paper split starting to 2.5 cm section towards top of rear hinge, but of no material structural consequence. Front paste-down with former ownership label of Chapel of Reflection Reference Library, together with address label of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Jones, i.e. prominent 20th-century American research astrologers J. Allen Jones Jr. and Thyrza Escobar, and separate much earlier vintage green pictorial address label of Macoy’s Masonic Astrological & Occult Books, N.Y.C.. Ffep with Golden Seal Research Headquarters Library stamp. No internal markings found to any printed page. Minor stain to upper margin of plate between pp. 174 and 175. An excellent copy with an interesting provenance through the collection of a couple of the late 20th century’s most serious astrological researchers.
