Ltd., 10-11 Red Lion Court, Fleet Street, E.C. 4, London 1927 £60 Dated 1927 in print, and publisher address agrees. All editions before 1931 are rare ASSOCIATION COPY. Original smallish-format full brown cloth with blind-stamped patterned bordering to front board in vgc, with light rubbing to extremities of spine, along spine hinges and to edges of boards, and scattered tiny traces of superficial scuffing to boards. This copy formerly owned by notable American mundane astrologer and astrological magazine editor Alma Crawford Graning, and bearing her plain-pencilled signature to ffep, her stamp to both front paste-down and ffep, and her apparent business address label (Crawford Publishing Co., Los Angeles, California) to front paste-down. Faint plain-pencilled bookseller inventory number also to ffep (erasable). Plain-pencilled dash to p. 11. Plain-pencilled marginal brackets around top 2 lines of text to p. 48 and bottom 2 lines to p. 86. Four words underlined in plain pencil to p. 64, and one line to p. 96. No permanent markings or other significant faults found. A very good copy, enriched by its evident history of having been owned by one of the USA’s pioneering female astrological writers and entrepreneurs, who was especially active in the 1930s and 1940s.
