Ltd., 10 & 11 Red Lion Court n.d. £45 Library records give 1929, which matches the publisher address, supporting this being the true first edition Original full blue criss-cross-patterned cloth in vgc+, with mostly light rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of boards; moderate wear to cloth over lower outer corner of front board; and two blue-inked initials written to lowest part of spine. Front paste-down with a repeat of the two initials and with original owner’s signature, dated 5-17-29. Ffep with plain-pencilled number and a few light traces of ink transfer from the front paste-down. Original owner’s signature repeated to upper margin of title page. Hinge between p. 32 and p. 33 strained, as usual on this edition. Apparent accidental plain-pencil mark to p. 43. Faint traces of erased former coloured underlining to pp. 50-53. Hand-inked correction to one character of one word on p. 55. Faint traces of blue-ink staining to parts of penultimate page of advertisements. No other faults or markings found. Externally vgc+; internally vgc-. Overall, still a vgc copy of the first edition.
