Hello. I represent a writer for Mercury hour magazine. I need access to magazines issued From 1979 to 1981.
Hello, Tom! I don’t have access to most of these issues at present as a result of the library I manage being boxed in storage in connection with a recent international relocation process. When you say you represent this writer, I’m not sure if you mean in a legal capacity or otherwise, but I regret I’ll have no access to the issues concerned until such time as I’ve secured and prepared for use a permanent place for the library – which is unlikely to have been completed before early 2018. If it’s more urgent, I can only suggest you try other libraries. Next year, I’d be happy to help.
I have tried to access….but it says my anti spam question is incorrect….which is not the case…..and my attempts have been stopped….
Hello Phillip….I wrote articles in 1980, 1981, 1982 for Mercury Hour. The main article was in 3 editions during this period “Chiron and Group Fusion” under my name, Tom McNamara.. Please help.
Hello again, Tom! Thank you for advising me of your authorship of those articles. I’ll be glad to take scans for you once I have access to them again.
A quick update for you:
A permanent home for the library was secured three months ago, but it has required a significant amount of renovation prior to the bookcases and bookshelves being moved in. The moving of the bookcases is currently projected for July this year, with the moving and unpacking of the books over the months to follow. I’m sorry I can’t get to it faster than that.
I have approved your ‘Allow request’ in the Stop Spammers plug-in. Sometimes it overexerts itself, especially when faced with log-ins from email addresses at a small number of domains that have proved particularly problematic for spam registrations, such as mail.ru and yahoo.com. I can only apologise. In general it is necessary because without it 95% of all submissions were spam. Thanks for your understanding.
Thank you Philip……for the work you are doing, and for your help on this……Tom
Hi Phil……hope all is going as it should…..still holding. Thanks again. Tom McNamara
On course for moving the magazines out of storage next month (October 2018), Tom! Thanks for your patience.
Hello Philip……it has been awhile…..Is is possible for this to happen? Thanks again. Tom McNamara
Tom, my mother passed away several months ago. I just found her issues of The Mercury Hour, and when I looked for info on it, I found this thread. If you are still needing scans of your article, I believe I found them. I’m happy to scan and email to you.
Kind of you to make this offer to Tom, Allison!
Tom, I’ve just moved my book scanner across to the library’s new home (was delayed as a result of the curtain order not being ready until the end of January and then depending on a relative to drive as I don’t have a car), and will try to set it up today if I can, and keep you posted.
Hello, Tom! Thanks for the reminder. I haven’t forgotten. I’ve recently completed unpacking and shelving the entire collection after it was moved across to its new home in October. However, the book scanner needed for scanning your articles has not yet been moved across from storage at a parent’s house. It is large and will need to be set up on one of the new downstairs tables in the library rooms, but they are both set in the bay windows where new curtain rails and curtains will be fitted on January 8th, so I’m reluctant for its own protection to move it across and set it up until shortly after that date. Once it is set up, I’ll be glad to prioritise your scans. Best wishes, Philip
I was once a subscriber and contributor. I have a large number of the MH magazines:1977 through 1987 full sets with extra editions. All clean in plastic sleeves. Odd issues: 1988: Jan Apr Oct; 1989: Jan Apr July Oct; 1990: Jan only
Earlier issues: #4 and #5 Jan Apr 1975; Extra Edition 1975; 1976 5 issues including Extra Edition. I would sell them all for $50 plus $10 shipping. Over 60 issues total. I have a Paypal account. I don’t want to use Ebay. Thanks
