Alfred Barley was a close associate of Alan Leo and wrote two books for the series of Astrological Manuals that Leo’s Modern Astrology Office published. The first of the two, originally entitled The Rationale of Astrology, was revised and renamed What Do We Mean By Astrology? for the second edition of 1910, as reproduced here.
